??? Luke Ching ??: Secret Code: copying blinks (????) Observation: During the SARS outbreak in Hong Kong, people wear masks and keep silent in public space. We see no talking but only blinking in our facial expressions. About Blink: Each Blink cuts the live movie of eyes into two footages. Each piece of footage represents the feeling of eyes longing for tears against dryness. Description: When I took the KCR train traveling between Lo Wu and Hung Hom, I looked at one passenger's eyes and followed his/her rhythm of blinks for one minute and recorded by a video camera. As I was so concentrated at copying all his/her blinks. I couldn't remember what I had seen at that period but the darkness separating each blink. Artist Statement: I would like to invite you to follow someone's rhythm of blinks today. Further project: I am going to invite all people in the world to go to the green place to see a flash of lightning. At this moment, we all blink in the same time as the same starting point of the different people's rhythm of blinks. As same as the Olympia Game, we have the same time of starting but different time of ending.
